Eldrive Romania inaugurated the first HYC1000 EV charger in Eastern Europe, with a total power of 1 MW, for very fast charging of electric vehicles, in partnership with MOON POWER. The charger is available in Eldrive's HUB located in the parking lot of the SUPERNOVA Pitești shopping center and marks a premiere in Romania, in terms of charging power.
This type of charger is beginning to appear in Western European markets, such as Germany, Austria and Italy, where HYC1000 units are being installed along major motorway corridors. However, the unit commissioned by Eldrive Romania is the very first HYC1000 charger to be installed and operational anywhere in Eastern Europe, placing Romania at the forefront of next-generation high-power charging infrastructure.

Eldrive Romania charging network mainly installs high-performance charging stations provided by the MOON POWER brand, part of Porsche Holding Salzburg.

The location of the HYC1000 charger at SUPERNOVA Pitești is essential, both as a geographical position and as a strengthening of the partnership between Eldrive and SUPERNOVA Group.

The Alpitronic MOON HYC1000 unit in the Eldrive Romania network can charge up to four electric cars simultaneously and can divide the power between them, if necessary, with a granularity of 62.5 kW, thanks to the dynamic load management system.
Thus, given the total power of 1 MW, the station can simultaneously charge four electric vehicles with 250 kW allocated to each.
The maximum power available on a CCS connector for passenger cars is 600 kW and there is the possibility of equipping the station with an MCS cable for trucks, which can deliver up to 1,000 kW.
Eldrive Romania will opt for this configuration when there will be demand in this direction. The HYC1000 unit is modular and configurable. It is possible to mount up to eight CCS connectors to the system. The maximum power of 600 kW on a connector for passenger cars far exceeds the charging power of the most modern and advanced electric vehicles available in Romania, which can charge with up to 480 kW.
This new high-power Alpitronic MOON HYC1000 unit is part of the Eldrive charging HUB in the SUPERNOVA Pitești parking lot, where a total of 11 charging points are available.
At the station's inauguration event, on December 3, 2025, numerous media representatives, representatives of Eldrive, MOON POWER and SUPERNOVA companies, were present, along with numerous importers and dealers of automobiles, vans and trucks. The car brands present were Ford, Porsche, Volkswagen, CUPRA, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, KIA, MG, Volvo, Hyundai, Geely, Lynk & Co and Zeekr. Ford and IVECO came with vans, and Volvo Trucks and Scania participated with trucks.
Eldrive Romania offers, by 2025, a better geographical coverage than ever before, and any user of a modern electric car can cross Romania, from any point to any point, using only Eldrive charging services, without the need for other applications or services.
Eldrive subscriptions can offer a reduction of the standard tariff from 2.55 Lei per unit to 1.75 Lei per unit (one charging unit is the equivalent of 1 kWh). Thus, very fast charging, at high power, is accessible to all electric vehicle users.
“We have sized these subscriptions so that a minimum of 12,000 km, going up to 24,000 km, can be covered by a user, annually, at costs that are about 20% lower than the standard prices, without a subscription”, explained Camelia Popescu.
Compared to the standard tariff (2.55 Lei/unit), customers who fuel 250 units per month save 133.5 Lei (monthly) when using the Eldrive Smart subscription, respectively 145 Lei (monthly) when using the Eldrive Pro subscription. Thus, the savings are 1,602 Lei (Eldrive Smart), up to 1,740 Lei (Eldrive Pro), per year.
