Eldrive Romania has reached the milestone of 600 electric vehicle charging points distributed across the country. The total installed capacity serving these charging points is 26 MW. By the end of 2025, Eldrive Romania aims to approach 1,000 charging points, with a total installed capacity of 43 MW. This year's main installations are focused on stations with capacities of 200 kW and 50 kW.

“Eldrive has reached a strong position in the Romanian market, and the installation of EV charging stations continues at a faster pace than ever,” said Camelia Popescu, Country Manager of Eldrive Romania.

Eldrive Romania’s customer mix consists of 60% individuals and 40% companies. Businesses with electric and plug-in hybrid fleets are steadily growing in the company’s portfolio, which initially consisted only of private users.

“The charging infrastructure for electric vehicles must always stay ahead of EV sales so that users can always find available, unoccupied stations. That’s why we continue our investments at a sustained pace,” explained Camelia Popescu.

The Eldrive Romania charging network includes stations for all types of electric vehicles, covering a wide range of power levels from 22 kW AC up to 400 kW DC.

Eldrive operates charging stations in 135 locations across Romania, with an average of 5 charging points per location. The company is increasingly focusing on creating charging HUBs, where a minimum of 3 stations and at least 6 charging points are active. Typically, a modern charging station has two charging points and can split power between two electric vehicles charging simultaneously.

The largest Eldrive Romania charging HUBs feature 24 charging points (Unirea Shopping Center Bucharest and Mega Mall Bucharest), followed closely by a HUB with 20 charging points (AFI Palace Cotroceni).

“More and more car brands are launching plug-in hybrid vehicles capable of fast charging, which means that our stations — designed for electric cars — will be able to easily serve plug-in hybrids as well,” said Camelia Popescu.

Among Eldrive Romania’s key priorities are: improving existing locations by adding new charging points, enhancing geographical coverage, and offering a top-quality customer support service — a dedicated call center.

After a customer registers, Eldrive Romania can activate the Autocharge feature (automatic authentication and payment) for compatible vehicles that support the Autocharge protocol. Additionally, Eldrive Romania offers tailored charging services for companies and fleets.
